CAT Show Curtains Deposit for Custom Order CFA TICA Donut Beds


A fun part of showing cats is decorating your cage and benching area. Just imagine how dull the show hall would be without the cage decorating! The themes and possibilities are endless. Spectators and fellow exhibitors alike enjoy the cage decorating very much. Spectators are often so impressed with the cage curtain decorations that they ask if they too are judged. The curtains aren't judged as part of the show; however, cat clubs have been known to host "cage decorating contests'. Curtain contest or not, you want you cats cozy while comfortably and beautifully displayed during the show. Cat shows involve a lot of waiting and sitting!

CREDENTIALS: I've been making Cat Show Curtains for CFA & TICA shows since 1996 when I first starting showing. My husband and I bred and showed CFA Silver & Golden Persian Cats for 17 years, so I am familiar with the process as well as various cat breeds and colors. We no longer show but my former cats are proudly displayed on this website.

READY MADE SETS: At times I have ready made sets available. They will be your best bargain.

CUSTOM ORDERS: Most of my curtain sets are "custom made-to-order". I look forward to designing a set for you!

COST is based on style, fabric and embellishments. (Please see my Portfolio Page to view past sample sets.) Basic labor cost for the topper, liner and skirt is $140 plus cost of fabric, trims and shipping. Extraordinary and elaborate sets are extra. Matching donut bed & litter pan cover are $50 when purchased with a set. The litter pan covers are for the small ones approximately 10" X 14".

FABRIC DEPOSIT is $125 for each set and will be applied toward your total order. A fabric deposit must be placed before I will begin designing your set(s). Curtain sets are one of a kind so you won't see another show set identical to yours in the show hall!

FABRIC SELECTION: I recommend using high grade cotton fabrics since cotton is a natural fabric, most breathable and easiest to wash, store and care for. Unless specified, I will most likely purchase cottons. Satin, taffetas, sequins, bridal fabrics and brocades are much more expensive and difficult to work with.

Normally I purchase and shop for the fabrics once a deposit is made. It takes a lot of fabric and normally more than one fabric pattern is necessary to complete a set so it gets rather involved and requires planning. I ask that you give me two favorite colors, your breed(s) shown and any particular likes or dislikes such as polka dots, gingham, florals, lace etc. If you have a particular style in mind, please indicate this on the write-in notes section.

I am happy to make matching bibs, aprons, crate pads, etc.

PROCESSING is approximately 2 weeks (10 business days). I don't work weekends and Holidays so please order well in advance of your show. Once your set is complete I will email or text a photo so please include your tele. no in the PERSONALITION section so that we may communicate. Once approved, I will invoice you for the final balance due including shipping. Your set will be shipped through the USPS Priority mail.

STORING & TRAVEL: I recommend storing and transporting your curtain sets on an extra wide hanger and covered in a poly garment bag or similar. (I often have the inexpensive ones on hand) This will minimize fold lines. My donut beds will fit inside most crates.
